Explaining (finally) the Feldenkrais Method

March 8, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$ 20
exploring common-sense ideas for movement health

As a profession, Feldenkrais practitioners tend to believe that people will understand the Feldenkrais Method if they actually take lessons—that the good experience will speak for itself.

After 16 years of teaching plenty of beginners workshops, I finally realize that people are often more confused after a lesson than before it.

In this workshop, I’m going to make the leap into explaining this potent approach to healing chronic physical and emotional challenges.

Once students understand that Feldenkrais is a neurological practice, not an exercise practice, they experience the benefits and wonder why no one ever told them about this before.

Most of this class will be seated discussion, with seated and standing movement sequences and experiments. You’ll be able to understand why and experience how Feldenkrais is so effective.

We’ll also spend time exploring common-sense ideas for movement health that are good for everyone, with or without a Feldenkrais practice!
